Equipment
- Medium Heavy Pot – For simmering sauce.
- Wooden Spoon or Silicone Spatula: – To stir and prevent sticking.
- Measuring Cups & Spoons – For accuracy.
- Airtight Glass Jar or Container – For storing sauce.
Ingredients
- ½ cup ketchup
- ½ cup cider vinegar
- ½ cup Chambord Liqueur
- 4 tbsps brown sugar
- 2 tbsps tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1 – 2 tsps chipotle powder
Instructions
- Add all of the ingredients in to a medium-sized, heavy pot over medium-high heat and stir to combine.
- As the mixture heats up and begins to bubble, turn the heat to medium-low.
- Continue to stir occasionally to keep from sticking and burning on the sides and bottom of the pot.
- When the mixture is reduced by half, remove from the heat; it's ready to serve.
Notes
This recipe makes approximately 1 cup of sauce. Because it has tomatoes, the mixture gets hot when it starts to bubble and spit, so be careful when stirring and standing near the pot.
